Motorists and residents in parts of Boston are facing disruption today following a burst water main on High Street near the junction of Liquorpond Street and White House Lane.
The burst, which was first reported at around 7am this morning, has led to some customers experiencing very low water pressure while repair works are carried out by Anglian Water.
According to the latest update from the water company, engineers are aiming to have supplies fully restored by 6:30pm today (17 May 2026), although this may change depending on the complexity of the repair.
Anglian Water said: “We’re really sorry but some customers in Boston may have very low water pressure. This is being caused by a burst water main in your area.”
Traffic delays are expected throughout the day and potentially into tomorrow while the repairs are completed. A temporary traffic control system, operating as a give-and-take arrangement, has been approved by Lincolnshire County Council via one.network under Utility Repair and Maintenance Works.
Drivers travelling through the High Street area are being advised to allow extra time for journeys or seek alternative routes where possible.
Anglian Water has confirmed it will continue to provide updates as work progresses. Residents who require additional support during supply interruptions are also being encouraged to sign up to the company’s Priority Services Register, which offers assistance to vulnerable customers, including families with babies under 12 months old and people with mobility, sight, or hearing difficulties.
Customers can contact Anglian Water via Facebook, X, or by calling 03457 145 145 for further support and updates.
