Tonic Health’s current Chair of Trustees, Barrie Pierpoint, will take up the position of Chief Executive from 1 September 2026.
Barrie brings over 30 years of senior leadership, business and management experience as a CEO and Managing Director, including leading successful high-profile businesses, charities and community organisations.
Commenting on his appointment, Barrie said: “I would like to thank Michael Morris, the current founder and CEO, most sincerely for having the vision to establish Tonic Health and for developing the charity into the organisation it is today.
“Over the past ten years, Tonic Health has become recognised for the outstanding community work undertaken across Boston, Spalding and Holbeach, and Michael should be extremely proud of the legacy he has created.
“I am looking forward to working alongside our fantastic staff, volunteers, Trustees, partners and supporters as we take the charity into its next stage of development.
“We have strong foundations to build upon and an exciting long-term ambition to develop Tonic Health’s operations further, reaching more people and potentially more communities across Lincolnshire.”
Tonic Health founder and Chief Executive Michael Morris will step down from his CEO role at the end of August, ten years after establishing the charity; he will continue to remain as a trustee.
Tonic Health was set up in June 2016 with a vision to create welcoming, community-based services that would support people to live healthier, happier and more connected lives.
Tonic Health has grown into a major community organisation, with its established wellbeing hubs in Spalding, Holbeach and Boston welcoming more than 30,000 visits over the past year alone.
The charity now works across a wide range of community needs, supporting children and young people, people experiencing mental health challenges, people who are homeless or vulnerably housed, older adults, people living with dementia, and those experiencing loneliness and social isolation.
Tonic Health has worked alongside an extensive network of voluntary, community and statutory organisations. Its three hubs have become recognised and trusted places within their communities – providing somewhere for people to meet, access support, build friendships and connect with the services they need.
Michael said “I wish Barrie every success as Chief Executive. I am looking forward to seeing Tonic Health continue to develop, grow and reach even more people under his leadership.”
