Three Volunteers from Boston have been selected to represent the UK as part of a team delivering the World Scout Jamboree in Poland in 2027. Set in the heart of Central Europe, Caroline Relton, Charlotte Wright and Lucy Copeland will work alongside Scouts from nearly every country in the world, helping to deliver a truly international experience and share skills for life on a global stage.
Held every four years in a different country, the World Scout Jamboree is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for young people, aged between 14 and 17, in Scouting. In 2027, with the backdrop of Poland’s rich history, landscapes and vibrant traditions, over 50,000 Scouts will gather to celebrate friendship across borders, experience different cultures and explore the outdoors.
UK Scouts has selected an outstanding team of 600 volunteers from across the country to make this event happen. As part of an International Team, Caroline, Charlotte and Lucy will help bring the Jamboree to life, taking on a role such as running exciting outdoor activities, supporting cultural exchanges or helping deliver large-scale events celebrating the diversity of global Scouting.
Charlotte said: “This is my first World Scout Jamboree. I’m so looking forward to being able to give more opportunities to young people while also developing my own skills and gaining experience internationally”
Lucy said “I was a volunteer in 2007 when the UK hosted the World Scout Jamboree when I was 3 months pregnant. In my job I work with a lot of Polish children, so I’m really looking forward to experiencing their culture and be able to share in that with them more when I get back”
Chief Scout Dwayne Fields said: “Congratulations to Charlotte, Lucy and Caroline and all the UK volunteers heading to the World Scout Jamboree in Poland. Opportunities like this are what Scouting is all about, bringing people together, building confidence, and showing young people what’s possible when they step outside their comfort zone.
The Jamboree is more than an event, it’s a chance to connect with the world, to learn from different cultures, and to come back inspired to make a difference at home. I’ve no doubt they will grab this experience with both hands and make the most of every moment.”
The 26th World Scout Jamboree will take place in Gdansk, Poland in 2027, bringing together Scouts from across the world for an unforgettable celebration of international friendship, adventure and global citizenship.
