A well-known local transport provider is marking a major milestone today, as Brylaine Travel celebrates 45 years of serving communities across Lincolnshire.

Founded on 1 May 1981, the family-run bus company has grown from its early beginnings into a key part of the region’s public transport network, connecting towns and villages across Boston, East Lindsey and South Holland.

The company was established by Brian and Elaine, with the name “Brylaine” created by combining their first names. More than four decades on, the business remains firmly in family hands, now run by their children, Paul and Marianne.

In a message shared to mark the occasion, the team thanked passengers for their continued support, saying: “Every time you choose to travel with us, you’re supporting a company that continues to care deeply about the communities we serve… Here’s to the next chapter.”

Today, Brylaine operates a fleet of 53 buses and employs 58 staff, delivering more than 1.2 million passenger journeys each year while covering over 1.3 million miles across the county.

Its services provide vital links for residents travelling for work, education and leisure, with regular routes connecting Boston to key destinations including Lincoln, Spalding, Skegness and Horncastle, as well as smaller communities such as Kirton, Donington, Woodhall Spa and Coningsby.

The company also plays a crucial role in supporting students, offering dedicated school services and affordable travel options for those attending schools, colleges and universities across Lincolnshire.

As an independent operator, Brylaine says it remains committed to investing in its services, improving reliability and offering a practical alternative to car travel, helping to reduce congestion and promote more environmentally friendly transport.

Celebrating 45 years in operation, Brylaine Travel continues to stand as a proud example of a local business built on community values, with a clear focus on keeping Lincolnshire connected for generations to come.
