A Boston-based maternity and newborn photographer has been named a finalist in this year’s UK Small Business Awards, earning national recognition for her work supporting families through some of life’s most important moments.
Luana Sanderson, owner of Luana Jade Photography, has been shortlisted for Best Small Business at the UK Small Business Awards — a nationwide celebration recognising the achievements and impact of independent businesses across the country.
Specialising in maternity and newborn photography, Luana provides a professional and tailored service to expectant and new parents. Her work focuses on documenting the early stages of family life, from pregnancy through to a baby’s first weeks, with an emphasis on creating timeless, high-quality imagery in a calm and supportive environment.
Alongside her business, Luana also volunteers her time with the Remember My Baby charity, offering remembrance photography to families who have experienced baby loss. The service provides sensitive and meaningful images, giving families something lasting to hold onto during incredibly difficult times.
The shortlisting reflects not only the quality of her photography, but also her wider contribution to the community.
A spokesperson for the UK Small Business Awards said: “The standard of entries this year has been incredibly high. Each finalist has demonstrated an exceptional level of talent and dedication, representing the very best of UK small businesses.”
Speaking following the announcement, Luana said: “I am incredibly honoured to be recognised as a finalist at the UK Small Business Awards. Supporting families through such important stages of their lives is a privilege, and this recognition means a great deal.”
The awards ceremony will take place on 19 December 2026 at The Eastside Rooms in Birmingham, where finalists from across the UK will come together. The National Top 10 winners will be announced during the event, which will also be live-streamed worldwide.
Luana has previously received recognition at a local level, winning the Sustainable Growth Award and being Highly Commended in the Upcoming Talent category at the Best of Boston Awards 2025.
Her latest achievement not only marks a significant milestone in her business journey, but also puts Boston firmly on the map, showcasing the strength of local talent and highlighting the impact small businesses from the area can have on a national stage.
