A charity dart marathon held in Swineshead has raised an impressive £4,257 for Prostate Cancer UK, following a full day of community spirit, determination and fundraising.

The event, titled “Bulls 4 Balls”, took place at The Green Dragon in the village Market Place, where participants took on the ambitious challenge of hitting 440 bullseyes in 10 hours.

Running from 12.30pm through to the evening, the event drew strong support from locals, with many stepping up to take part, donate, and get involved throughout the day.

Alongside the dart challenge itself, a series of raffles, supported by local businesses including Trev’s Tyres in Bourne, Scott “Shaggy” Williams, and Davanti Tyres, helped boost the fundraising total.

The event also featured a competitive edge, with the “Bronze Bully” trophies awarded to recognise both the highest number of bullseyes hit and the top individual fundraiser.

Sean Trafford, landlord of The Green Dragon, said: “We’re absolutely blown away by the support from everyone who came down. To raise £4,257 in a single day is incredible, and it just shows what this community can achieve when people come together for a cause that means so much to so many. A huge thank you to everyone who donated, took part, and supported us throughout the day.”

He added: “We wanted to do something a bit different, and the response has been fantastic. It’s been a brilliant atmosphere from start to finish, and we’re already thinking about how we can make it even bigger next time.”

The fundraiser was organised to support prostate cancer awareness, a cause that has personally affected many within the community, and organisers hope the success of the event will help continue important conversations around men’s health.

With thousands raised and a packed pub throughout the day, “Bulls 4 Balls” has been hailed as a huge success, highlighting the power of community-led fundraising in Swineshead and beyond.
