Duckworth Motor Group has announced the acquisition of the official Jaguar Land Rover dealership in Norwich, marking a significant expansion for the family-owned business into a second county.
The dealership, located on Maple Way, Postwick, has been acquired from Group 1 Automotive and officially began trading as Duckworth Jaguar Land Rover Norwich on 5 June 2026.
Established in Lincolnshire and operating as an official Land Rover retailer since 1980, Duckworth Motor Group has built a strong reputation across the region. The company currently operates successful Jaguar Land Rover dealerships in Market Rasen and Boston and has now extended its presence into Norfolk with the addition of the Norwich site.
The Norwich dealership will continue to offer the full range of new and approved used Land Rover vehicles, alongside approved used Jaguar models. Customers will also have access to fleet and business vehicle services, manufacturer-approved servicing, maintenance, parts and comprehensive aftersales support for both brands.
The acquisition represents a major milestone for Duckworth Motor Group as it continues to invest in the Jaguar Land Rover network and strengthen its presence across the East of England.
The move ensures customers in Norfolk will continue to benefit from local access to premium vehicle sales and manufacturer-approved servicing, backed by a business with more than four decades of experience representing the Land Rover brand.
Ben Duckworth, Managing Director of Duckworth Motor Group said: “This expansion is an exciting step forward for the company and the growth reflects our relationship and commitment to JLR, representing the four brands of Defender, Discovery, Range Rover and Jaguar, as well as the hard work of our team. Since 1980 the Duckworth family has grown its business with the JLR brands and is excited about the JLR franchises for East Anglia.
“We aim to ensure clients have a seamless transition to the new name, with existing orders and contracts moving across to Duckworth Motor Group.”
Duckworth Motor Group look forward to meeting clients, old and new, at the Royal Norfolk Show on 24 & 25 June 2026.
Financial Due Diligence and transactional support was provided by Cooper Parry and Field Fisher.
Ian McMahon, Head of Automotive at Cooper Parry supported Duckworth Motor Group on the transaction, and said: “The acquisition of this additional point of representation for Duckworth Motor Group, is a great way to build their market area representation, and with it the ability to invest in the brand and the local economy. I have little doubt that the detailed product and customer knowledge that the Duckworth business will bring to the new site will allow the team there to deliver a great experience for customers.”
