St Barnabas Hospice has issued a clarification regarding a car park in Boston after signage suggested the site was directly supporting the charity.

The hospice confirmed that, since late 2022, it has received contributions of around £60 per month from a car park on Red Lion Street. While grateful for the donations, the organisation stressed that there has never been a formal agreement in place with the site’s operator, Bank Park Management.

In a statement, the charity explained that although early discussions had taken place regarding a potential arrangement, these were not formally concluded and are no longer active. It also acknowledged that clearer communication from its side may have helped avoid confusion.

The clarification follows the presence of signage at the site referring to it as a “St Barnabas Charity Car Park,” which the hospice says did not accurately reflect the relationship. After working collaboratively with those involved, the signage has now been removed.

A spokesperson said the action was taken to ensure transparency and to protect the integrity of the charity’s name and brand.

St Barnabas Hospice continues to encourage those wishing to support its work to donate directly through official channels, and has welcomed conversations with businesses interested in formal partnerships and corporate support.

The hospice provides vital end-of-life care and support services across Lincolnshire, relying heavily on donations and community backing to continue its work.
