Lincolnshire Police have been at Boston High School after an incident on Monday resulted in the entire school site being placed into lockdown and a teenage girl being arrested.
The incident unfolded at Boston High School on Spilsby Road on Monday, 14 September, with the school entering a full lockdown while the situation was dealt with.
Education was temporarily paused and pupils and staff remained secured within the school site while the incident was handled.
Lincolnshire Police have now confirmed officers were alerted at 11.19am following what they described as a “concern for safety” relating to a pupil.
A teenage girl was arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article in a public place. She has since been released under investigation, with relevant safeguarding measures in place.
In an update issued following the incident, a spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: “We can confirm that we are working with parents, the school, and relevant authorities to address the situation and investigations remain on-going.
“Our Neighbourhood Policing Team officers have been carrying out reassurance patrols at Boston High School this morning, engaging with pupils, staff and the wider school community to listen to and address any concerns.
“There is likely to be an increased police presence at the school over the coming days as officers continue to provide reassurance and support.”
Police are urging anyone with information which may be relevant to the incident to report it through the ‘Tell us about’ section of the Lincolnshire Police website, quoting incident 127 of 14 September.
Boston VIBE contacted Boston High School following Monday’s incident and has requested a statement from the school. No response has been received at the time of publication.
The police investigation remains ongoing.
