A memorial football match is set to take place in Boston later this month, bringing together dozens of colleagues, friends and family to celebrate the life of a much-loved local man.
On Tuesday 28 April, more than 40 players will take to the pitch at Boston United for a special fixture held in memory of Ryan Featherstone.
The match has been organised by Ryan’s colleagues, who say the event is a fitting tribute to someone who gave “everything” to his role, including his energy, pride, humour and heart.
Those taking part will be joined by a large crowd of supporters, with teammates, friends and family expected to attend in significant numbers to honour Ryan’s life and legacy.
Organisers say the match is not only about remembrance, but also about coming together as a community.
“This memorial match is our way of ensuring that spirit lives on,” they said. “Ryan made a difference every day, and this is about making sure that difference continues.”
The event will also raise funds for Shine Lincolnshire, a charity close to the hearts of many involved. A number of local businesses have already stepped forward to support the match, helping to make the event possible and maximise fundraising efforts.
Residents are being encouraged to attend, show their support, and contribute if they are able, with donations in Ryan’s memory welcomed both on the day and online.
