A new fortnightly breakfast club meeting will launch at Costa Coffee in Asda Boston for local people looking for a relaxed chat and a few laughs with new friends thanks to a new relationship with Royal Voluntary Service (RVS)

The new scheme hopes to create opportunities for people over 55 years of age to engage with one another as part of the RVS campaign to bring people together to help prevent loneliness and isolation.

The breakfast club will meet alternate Thursdays at the Lister Way store from 9am to 10am beginning on Thursday 15th January 2026.

For the first meeting, all attendees will receive an amazing 50% off all full price Costa Coffee refreshments purchased during the hour. At all subsequent meetings, a 10% discount will be offered off all Costa Coffee food and beverage purchases.

Costa Coffee manager, Debbie Darrigan, added: “We’re proud to launch our new fortnightly meet-up group with RVS – it’s all about bringing people together over a good cup of coffee and a friendly chat. Loneliness is something that affects more people than we often realise, and if we can help create a welcoming space where everyone feels they belong, then we’re doing something truly worthwhile.”

Visitors to the group are encouraged to download the Costa app where they can earn one ‘bean’ with every barista crafted hot and cold beverage of any size purchased to save for a free drink of any size, or earn two ‘beans’ towards the free beverage every time they bring a reusable cup into store.

Additionally, exclusive offers are available through the Costa app including personalised rewards and a free treat from Costa sweet counter on your birthday. Volunteers will be available to help download and set up the app on customers’ smartphones.

Importantly, all places must be booked in advance by contacting Andrea Briggs on 07468 701994 or Andrea.Briggs@royalvoluntaryservice.org.uk

Asda Boston’s community champion, Stephen Bromby, is also keen to hear from other groups that may want to use the free Costa Coffee facilities, he said: “We take our part in the local community very seriously and always try to support as many local groups as we can. We’d love to see other community groups embrace this initiative, turning tables into hubs for various activities like homework clubs, parent and baby groups, craft clubs, knit & natter groups, and book clubs, as well as local groups that aim to prevent isolation in our rural community. We are able to offer a warm and welcoming space in a central location, with free parking, free Wi-Fi, easy access to popular bus routes, great menu and friendly service.”

Enquiries about using the facilities should be made to community_boston@asda.uk
