Over the weekend, Storm Darragh battered England and Wales, with fallen trees and floods hitting the whole country.

Hundreds of calls were received by Lincolnshire Police’s control room, reporting blocked roads by fallen trees and localised flooding.

In Boston, trees fell on Kingsway and Frith Bank, which were swiftly cleared by residents.

The 40ft silver birch fell on Satrurday afternoon, with local recovery operator Shaun Stark swiftly heading to the location with his crane to remove the tree from the road.

On Sunday morning, a large tree blocked Frith Bank, with volunteer responders from Lincolnshire Community Assistance Team and local resident Russell Dadswell clearing the full tree and debris.

Further trees were reported in Old Leake, Fishtoft, Frieston and further afield, all cleared by residents.

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Community Assistance Team said: “We’re grateful to the local community and residents who have rallied around over this weekend, clearing fallen trees, debris and supporting our responders in the course of their duties. We’re committed to working with service users to keep Lincolnshire moving and safe, and the help that has been provided ensured that we did just that.”
