The aftermath of Storm Bert has caused widespread disruption across Lincolnshire, with fallen trees and debris creating hazardous conditions in several areas, including Boston. The Lincolnshire Community Assistance Team (L-CAT), working alongside Lincolnshire Police, have been actively responding to numerous incidents throughout the county to ensure public safety and clear roadways.
In a statement shared on their social media, L-CAT confirmed their responders had been deployed to assist with a range of incidents caused by the storm, including the clearance of fallen trees in Boston. Strong winds and heavy rainfall brought down several large trees, blocking roads and posing risks to both residents and motorists.
A spokesperson for L-CAT stated:
“Storm Bert has presented significant challenges, but thanks to the dedication of our volunteers and coordination with Lincolnshire Police, we have been able to respond swiftly to incidents across the county. In Boston, we worked hard to ensure the affected areas were made safe as quickly as possible.”
Residents are urged to remain vigilant, as further disruptions may occur while the storm’s impact continues to be assessed. The public is encouraged to report fallen trees, flooding, or other hazards to the relevant authorities and avoid unnecessary travel in affected areas.
