A major infrastructure upgrade has been completed by Lincolnshire County Council at a busy Boston junction.
The works on the junction of Tawney Street, Norfolk Street and Robin Hoods Walk saw motorists experience delays throughout parts of July and August, as the authority completed upgrades to the footpath, carriageway and replacement traffic signals as part of a programme of improvements throughout the county.
The works saw temporary traffic signals in place for 7 weeks from 22nd July, accompanied by nighttime road closures for two weeks in August, to enable contractors to lay over 600 tonnes of road building materials covering up to 60m of Tawney Street, Norfolk Street and Robin Hoods Walk.
Councillor Anton Dani, County Councillor for Boston North, said: “The feedback from people about the completed works has been very positive and we are all very pleased that this important improvement project has been successfully carried out.
“Now that the works are complete, drivers can expect safer and smoother journeys when using the Norfolk Street / Tawney Street junction.
“We’re now looking at carrying out further improvements to the area to help keep traffic moving, however nothing is confirmed yet but we will share more info once we have it.”
