An 86-year-old woman is believed to have died following a house fire in Swineshead, with police now appealing for help to trace her next of kin.

Emergency services were called to a property on Bullen’s Lane, Swineshead, at around 5.37pm on Monday, 7 September, following reports of a fire.

A woman in her 80s was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Lincolnshire Police believe the deceased to be the 86-year-old woman who lived at the property, although formal identification has not yet taken place.

Despite extensive enquiries, officers have so far been unable to locate any of the woman’s next of kin and are now asking members of the public for assistance.

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: “We are asking for the public’s help in locating this woman’s family members. Any information, no matter how small it may seem, could help us trace her relatives and ensure they are informed of her passing.”

Officers are working alongside Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service to establish the circumstances surrounding the fire, with the investigation continuing.

Police officers will remain at the property while enquiries are carried out.
