A festive convoy which saw more than 200 vehicles come together last year is set to return this Christmas, bringing presents and a spectacular display of lights to Pilgrim Hospital in Boston.
Lincolnshire Vanlife and Lincs Low-Life Car Club have confirmed their annual Christmas Convoy will take place on Saturday, 19 December 2026, travelling from the Sutton Bridge area to Pilgrim Hospital.
The event aims to bring some festive cheer to children who may be spending Christmas in hospital, with organisers collecting donations of small toys, sweets and selection boxes to be delivered to the children’s ward.
Organisers are also hoping to put on a festive light display in the hospital car park, giving patients who are able to look out from the hospital windows the chance to see the convoy illuminated below.
More than 200 vehicles took part in last year’s convoy, and those behind the event are hoping to make the 2026 edition even bigger.
This year, all vehicles taking part will start from Nene Transport near Sutton Bridge, with organisers confirming there will not be a halfway meeting point as there has been previously.
The full route and timings are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
Ahead of the convoy, organisers are appealing to members of the public and local businesses to support the event by donating small toys, sweets or selection boxes.
Donation drop-off points are expected to be available across Boston, Kirton, Wyberton, Holbeach and Long Sutton, with the exact locations to be confirmed at a later date. Organisers may also be able to arrange collections locally for people unable to reach one of the designated drop-off points.
Volunteers are also being sought to help safely manage the convoy, including people willing to assist as blockers along the route.
With hundreds of decorated vehicles expected to take part, organisers hope the annual journey to Pilgrim Hospital will once again provide a memorable sight while helping make Christmas a little brighter for children spending the festive period away from home.
