The cause of a house fire in Boston last week has been confirmed as accidental following a detailed investigation by fire experts.
Emergency services were called to the property on Main Ridge East at 8.16pm on 28 May 2026 after reports of a fire inside the building.
A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said crews from Boston, Kirton and Donington attended the scene.
They added: “Fire crews used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire. There was significant fire damage to one room on the ground floor, and smoke damage throughout the property.
“A fire investigation concluded that the cause was accidental, with flammable vapours ignited by a naked flame.”
A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police confirmed officers were also called to the incident at the same time, working alongside fire and ambulance colleagues.

“We joined our colleagues at East Midlands Ambulance Service to deal with the incident. Three people in the building were taken to hospital. Two with injuries described as minor and one with injuries described as serious. Incident 507 of 28 May 2026 refers.”
The blaze also saw attendance from Helimed54, the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance helicopter emergency medical service, which confirmed it was in attendance but did not provide further details regarding patient transport.
