Main Ridge East has been closed between Vauxhall Bridge and York Street this evening due to an ongoing emergency incident.
Emergency services, including Lincolnshire Police, Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue and East Midlands Ambulance Service, are currently at the scene.
It is also understood that Helimed54, the Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance helicopter based at Nottingham Heliport, has landed in Central Park as part of the emergency response.
Motorists and pedestrians are being advised to avoid the area while emergency services deal with the incident. Significant disruption is expected in and around the town centre while the road closure remains in place.
At this stage, the nature of the incident has not been officially confirmed.
Both Lincolnshire Police and Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue have been approached for comment.
