More than 700 properties have been left without electricity this afternoon following a fault on high voltage power lines in the area.
According to National Grid, engineers were alerted to the issue at 4:06pm and are currently working to restore power as quickly as possible.
As of 4:44pm, a total of 708 properties were reported to be off supply.
In an update issued to customers, National Grid said: “We know you’re without power. We were alerted at 4:06pm this afternoon and our engineers are working to get your electricity back on as quickly as possible. We’re sorry for the disruption.”
The company confirmed the outage has been caused by a fault on high voltage power lines and said repairs are being treated as a priority.
Power is currently estimated to be restored by 7:00pm this evening, although National Grid has warned this could change if engineers encounter unexpected challenges while accessing or repairing the fault.
Residents are being advised that while the estimated restoration time refers to when the final affected property is expected to be reconnected, many homes and businesses may have their electricity restored sooner.
