Emergency services are currently at the scene of a serious incident on the A52 near Wrangle following a two-vehicle collision.
The collision has occurred at the junction with Church End, where an electricity pole was struck and subsequently fell into the roadway, forcing the closure of the route while the incident is dealt with.
National Grid engineers are in attendance alongside emergency services as work continues to make the area safe and remove the damaged pole from the carriageway.
Motorists are being advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes while closures remain in place. Delays are expected on surrounding roads.
No further details regarding injuries or the circumstances surrounding the collision have yet been released.
