A popular Gym marked a major milestone last weekend as it celebrated its fifth anniversary with a packed, family-friendly birthday event.
Mayhem Gym, owned by local family duo Tom Chenery and Sarah Chenery, threw open its doors for a one-day celebration that welcomed members, newcomers, and families from across the area to join in the festivities.
Visitors were able to train completely free of charge throughout the day, with the venue transformed into a vibrant hub of activity. A live DJ provided the soundtrack as attendees took part in a range of challenges and activities, including grip strength tests, car deadlifts, and riding the ever-popular rodeo bull.
There was plenty on offer beyond the gym floor too, with food and drink vendors including Nik’n’ Mix, George’s Cocktail Bar, and burgers from Millzy’s Munch keeping guests refreshed. Younger visitors were kept entertained with a bouncy castle, ensuring the event catered to all ages.
A highlight of the day saw a special appearance from Dean Mason, who hosted meet-and-greet sessions and workshops, drawing strong interest from fitness enthusiasts keen to learn from one of the country’s top strongmen.
Competitions and giveaways ran throughout the event, including free memberships, rodeo bull challenges, a car deadlift competition, and a £5 raffle offering the chance to win a full year’s membership.
Speaking after the event, co-owner Tom Chenery said: “We’re absolutely blown away by the turnout and the energy on the day. Seeing so many people—members, families, and new faces—come together to celebrate five years of Mayhem Gym meant a lot to us. It really showed what this community is all about, and we’re excited for what the future holds.”
The celebration also showcased Mayhem Gym’s growing role within the local community. The business is a co-organiser of the annual Boston’s Strongest & Food Fest, delivered in partnership with Boston Borough Council. The event is set to return to Boston Market Place on Sunday 19th July, promising another day of strength competitions, food, and entertainment.
With a buzzing atmosphere, strong community turnout, and plenty of memorable moments, Mayhem Gym’s fifth birthday proved to be more than just a celebration—it was a reflection of the impact the gym has made over the past five years.
