Lindum Group, in partnership with award-winning discount food retailer Aldi, is bringing forward proposals for a new high-quality food store on land just off Wainfleet Road, Boston.

The site forms part of the wider redevelopment of a prominent vacant site on Wainfleet Road (A52), which also includes a petrol filling station and drive-through coffee shop. Lindum Group is leading on the delivery of the wider scheme, bringing forward new investment at this gateway location into Boston.

Lindum Group and Aldi have launched a pre-application consultation today, Wednesday 29 April which will run until 11.59pm on Sunday 10 May 2026. Local residents and the wider community are invited to review the plans and provide feedback via the project website.

A multi-million-pound investment of approximately £7 million into the local economy, supporting residents in Boston and the wider East Lincolnshire area.

  1. Creation of around 40 new quality full- and part-time jobs, paid at Aldi’s industry-leading rate above the National Living Wage.
  2. Redevelopment of a prominent vacant site, bringing forward new investment and enhancing this key gateway location.
  3. Promotion of more sustainable shopping patterns, helping to reduce the need to travel across town for everyday groceries.
  4. Provision of customer parking, including accessible and parent and child spaces, alongside electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
  5. Additional employment opportunities during construction and through Aldi’s established UK supply chain.
  6. A high-quality, modern store design with landscaping to create an attractive and accessible environment.

Aldi is already a well-established retailer in Boston, and the proposals represent a long-term investment in the town. A new store at Wainfleet Road would broaden local shopping choice, ensuring residents have access to affordable, high-quality food shopping in a modern and accessible location.

A spokesperson for Aldi said: “We are pleased to be bringing forward proposals for a new Aldi store on Wainfleet Road, Boston. The store represents a significant investment in the town and would create up to 40 new quality full- and part-time jobs.

The proposals form part of our long-term commitment to Boston, providing a modern, purpose-built store to better serve local residents. We encourage residents to visit the consultation website to learn more about the plans and share their views.”

A spokesperson for Lindum Group said: “This is a prominent site on Wainfleet Road, and we are pleased to be bringing forward proposals for its redevelopment in partnership with Aldi. The scheme will deliver new investment and help enhance this important gateway into Boston.

Working with Aldi will ensure the site is brought forward in a way that meets the needs of local residents, providing convenient access to affordable food shopping while supporting wider investment in the area.”
