Lincolnshire Police have closed part of the A1121 Boardsides near Boston following an incident involving a lorry with an unsafe load.

Officers were called after the load being carried on the vehicle shifted during transit and broke through the headboard of the trailer. The incident is believed to have occurred following sudden emergency braking, causing the load to move forward and become unstable.

As a result, the A1121 Boardsides has been closed between Hubberts Bridge and the Sleaford Road roundabout while recovery work is carried out.

Motorists are being advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes, with recovery expected to take at least four hours.

Lincolnshire Police say the closure is necessary to ensure the safety of road users while the vehicle is made safe and removed.

The incident is logged as 261 of 20 April 2026.
