Poyntons Consultancy is delighted to announce that it has secured a landmark deal to bring globally recognised restaurant brand Wendy’s to The Quadrant, Boston’s flagship gateway development, following submission of a detailed planning application to Boston Borough Council.
Acting on behalf of master developer Chestnut Homes, Poyntons Consultancy has completed the sale of a prime roadside plot at The Quadrant to Papas Hospitality Limited, one of the UK’s fastest-growing and most ambitious independent hospitality operators, and a key franchise partner for the Wendy’s brand.
The submitted proposals set out plans for a high-quality, purpose-built drive-thru restaurant, incorporating a 40-seat internal dining area, takeaway facilities and a dedicated drive-thru lane with order points and collection windows.
Designed to modern operational standards, the scheme will also provide customer parking with EV charging, accessible bays, cycle provision and landscaped surroundings, delivering a prominent, contemporary roadside destination on the A16.
Founded in 1969, Wendy’s is one of the world’s most recognisable quick-service restaurant brands, with thousands of locations worldwide and a rapidly expanding UK footprint. The submission of a full planning application for Boston marks a significant moment for the town and reflects growing national confidence in its future.
The development is expected to create up to 40 new jobs, further strengthening Boston’s evolving retail and leisure offer and building on the momentum already established at The Quadrant.
Jack Fairman, of Poyntons Consultancy, said: “This is a hugely exciting moment for Boston. Securing a deal of this scale with a major operator like Papas Hospitality and for a globally recognised brand such as Wendy’s is a real statement of intent for The Quadrant.
We are seeing unprecedented levels of interest from national operators, and this deal demonstrates the strength of Boston as an investment location.
The Quadrant has rapidly established itself as one of the most prominent roadside schemes in the region, and we are proud to be at the forefront of bringing forward developments of this calibre.”
The Quadrant, a 69-acre mixed-use development fronting the A16 and home to the Jakemans Community Stadium, the home of Boston United, has quickly become one of the region’s most significant growth locations, combining residential, leisure and commercial uses in a highly accessible setting.
With a growing cluster of national operators already in place and further phases progressing, the development is widely regarded as a landmark scheme for Boston and the wider South Lincolnshire area.
The proposed Wendy’s restaurant represents the next major step in its evolution.
Further updates will follow as the planning process progresses.
