A well-known automotive service centre in Boston is set to close its doors, as part of a nationwide wind-down of operations.
ATS Euromaster has confirmed that its Boston branch, located on London Road at the A16 roundabout with Spalding Road, is set to cease trading on 1 May 2026. Staff at the site have now been informed of the proposed closure.
The move forms part of wider plans first announced in February, which outlined a structured wind-down of ATS Euromaster’s UK operations following ongoing financial challenges. Despite efforts to restructure the business, including the closure of 86 underperforming centres in 2025, the company has been unable to offset rising costs, increasing competition and changing customer behaviour.
A spokesperson for the company said ATS Euromaster had been unable to secure a buyer for the business as a whole. “A total of 49 centres are therefore proposed for sale to two buyers. Subject to the completion of these sales, 216 employees across the 49 sites are expected to transfer to the new owners under TUPE regulations,” they said.
The proposed sales would see 35 sites transfer to Formula One Autocentres and a further 14 to S&M Tyres, trading as Elite Garages.
The remaining 103 sites, including the Boston branch, have been identified for closure, with the company currently undertaking a period of collective consultation with affected staff, which is due to run until 30 April 2026. If the proposals proceed, the final day of trading for those locations would be 1 May 2026.
In total, around 703 roles are at risk of redundancy nationwide, including positions across its head office, call centre and retail network. While some opportunities may be available within other parts of the wider Euromaster Group, many employees face an uncertain future.
The Boston centre will continue operating as normal during this period, with its future expected to be confirmed following the conclusion of the consultation.
