Poyntons Consultancy is delighted to announce that the sale of the former York Street Football Ground site has now successfully completed to United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (ULTH), following their successful planning application approval.
The successful application was supported by Poyntons Consultancy, which played an instrumental role in facilitating the transaction.
The site will be redeveloped as a Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC), responding to an urgent clinical need in the local community. The CDC will form a key part of local health infrastructure, supporting earlier, faster, and more accurate diagnosis of health conditions while reducing pressure on acute hospital sites. By providing modern diagnostic facilities within the community, the centre will improve patient outcomes and support preventative healthcare.
The former Boston United F.C. ground, which has been vacant for several years following the club’s relocation, will be transformed into a new facility designed to enhance patient care and journeys.
The CDC will feature:
- Core clinical areas including consultation rooms, CT scanners, X-ray, and MRI scanners
- Capacity to serve around 350 patients per day
- New employment opportunities – approximately 45 full-time and 10 part-time roles
- Low-carbon building design with renewable energy technology, including 72 solar panels
- 115 car parking spaces, including 12 EV charging units, and 10 secure cycle spaces
- Enhanced landscape and biodiversity net gain
- Multi-million-pound investment in infrastructure, contributing to the wider regeneration of Boston
The CDC will allow patients to access diagnostics closer to home, separate from urgent hospital services, reducing waiting times and cancellations. The development will also improve productivity by streamlining diagnostic pathways, reducing duplication, and ensuring a single point of access for a range of services.
Commenting on the sale, Jack Fairman, of Poyntons Consultancy, said: “We are delighted to have played such an important role in completing the sale of the York Street site. This is a landmark project for Boston, and being able to help bring forward a development that will deliver lasting, positive benefits for the town.”
