Boston United have confirmed that first-team manager Graham Coughlan has left the club.

The 51-year-old departs following Saturday’s 0-0 draw away at Braintree Town, with the Pilgrims currently sitting four places and three points clear of the relegation zone ahead of their trip to FC Halifax Town next weekend.

Coughlan will be remembered for overseeing one of the most remarkable periods in the club’s recent history, after guiding United to a dramatic escape from relegation during the 2024/25 season. The Pilgrims overturned a double-digit points deficit, winning 10 matches across March and April to secure survival in extraordinary fashion.

His achievements were recognised with the National League North Manager of the Month award for March, after his side collected 20 points from nine matches during that run.

In a statement, the club said they extend their thanks and best wishes to Coughlan, adding that his role in the 2025 survival campaign “will never be forgotten”.

Boston United have confirmed there will be no further comment at this stage as they begin the process of forming a new management team.
