The Boston Scouts held a special awards evening at the Municipal Buildings last night (Tuesday 11th November) to celebrate outstanding achievements and long-standing dedication within the local Scouting community.
Joined by the Mayor of Boston and County Lead Volunteer Howard Nelson, the event recognised adult volunteers who have devoted between 10 and 30 years of service to Scouting in the area.
Awards presented on the night included the Chief Scout’s Commendation for Good Service, Award for Merit, Bar to the Award for Merit, Silver Acorn, and Bar to the Silver Acorn. The evening’s highest honour, the Silver Wolf, the top accolade an adult in Scouting can receive, was presented to Guy Dix of 3rd Boston for his exceptional contribution over many years.
The ceremony also celebrated remarkable achievements among young members. Patrick Clayton of 10th Boston received the Chief Scout’s Award for Meritorious Conduct after saving two lives on separate occasions earlier this year. In addition, Young Leader Lily Morrison was presented with the Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award.
District Lead Volunteer Rob Johnson praised the dedication of all those honoured, saying: “The adult volunteers in Scouting go above and beyond, and tonight a handful were congratulated and awarded for their outstanding commitment. They are an inspiration to our young people and the wider community.”
Boston Scouts welcome girls and boys aged 4 to 18, offering fun, friendship, and adventure while helping young people develop valuable skills for life.

The evening served as a proud reminder of the strength, courage, and community spirit that define Scouting in Boston.
