Fishtoft Academy was delighted to welcome the Mayor of Boston to our Harvest Festival this week.
The children proudly performed songs and poems to mark the occasion, before showing the Mayor the fantastic collection of food they had gathered to support one of his chosen charities, the Boston Foodbank.
He also enjoyed a tour of the school and joined our House Captains and Deputies for a lively Q&A session, where they asked thoughtful questions about his role and responsibilities. It was a memorable day full of pride, generosity, and community spirit where all of the schools HEART values were on display!
Cllr Barrie Pierpoint, The Worshipful the Mayor of Boston said ” I was delighted to attend the Fishtoft Academy Harvest Festival this week. What an amazing Academy!
I was well looked after by all the friendly staff and the children were extremely polite and well mannered. They truly appreciated my visit.
The Harvest Festival programme consisted of all the children reading out various poems and singing a selection of songs.
They had even collected and presented an array of food for the Boston Foodbank. It was a highly entertaining and valuable morning; all the children displayed their individual and collective talents. I was so impressed.
The children really challenged me in the Q&A session about my role as Mayor and it was a rewarding occasion for both them and me.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the children and staff. Fishtoft Academy is a fantastic educational and learning institution, their facilities are state of the art.
They have already invited the Mayor back and I can’t wait to visit them again”.
