Popular town-centre venue The Barrel House will be temporarily closing its doors this weekend as it prepares to reopen under new management.
The announcement was made via the venue’s social media, confirming that the bar will return next weekend with a familiar face at the helm, marking an exciting new chapter for the much-loved business.
In a heartfelt message, the outgoing team shared that the decision to step away had not been taken lightly: “After a lot of thought, we realised we’re not able to give it the time and attention it truly deserves. This place means so much to us, and we want to see it thrive in the hands of someone who can give it exactly what it needs moving forward.”
They went on to thank patrons for their continued support over the years: “Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your support, memories, and kindness. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has been a part of this journey.”
Taking over is someone who knows the venue well, Cody Vaughan Taylor, who has watched The Barrel House grow over the years while providing security services for the venue, and has promised to build on the venue’s strong reputation while bringing in new ideas and energy.
Speaking exclusively to Boston VIBE, Cody said: “The Barrel House has always had an incredible atmosphere and loyal customer base. I’m honoured to be taking it forward and excited to put my own stamp on it, while respecting everything that’s made it special up to now. We’ve got some exciting things planned for the relaunch and I can’t wait to welcome everyone back through the doors.”
Cody hinted at updates to both the drinks menu and live entertainment offering, with a promise to keep the venue at the heart of Boston’s nightlife.
Locals are now being encouraged to mark their calendars for next weekend’s relaunch event, with the team promising a fresh start and a night to remember.
“So get your party outfits on and let’s see you out next weekend to celebrate. Here’s to new beginnings.”
