A major planning application has been submitted to Boston Borough Council by Duckworth Land Rover for a significant extension to its existing dealership on the outskirts of Kirton.

The application outlines plans for a new single-storey extension to the Jaguar Land Rover site, specifically to create a dedicated Parts Delivery Area and house a new photographic turntable. The proposed development will be located on the side of the existing building, adjacent to the current parts intake area.

According to the submitted plans, the new space will enable secure, out-of-hours parts deliveries to be dropped off and stored safely, helping to streamline operations and improve site efficiency. The design includes dedicated access doors to receive deliveries directly into the new extension, with internal connections allowing for smooth transfer of stock into the existing parts department.

As part of the proposal, the dealership’s photographic turntable, currently located within the main building, will be relocated into the new extension. This move will free up space inside the dealership for additional vehicle servicing bays, increasing operational capacity.

General staff access to the extension will be via the main building, although provisions have been made for some smaller deliveries to be handled directly through existing external access points.

The application notes that the site is surrounded by other commercial premises, including light industrial and retail units, and the proposed design has been developed to complement the existing architecture. Materials proposed include silver horizontal profiled wall cladding, grey roof cladding, silver roller shutter doors, and grey personnel doors, all chosen to match the current building’s aesthetic.

No additional parking or landscaping is proposed, as the development focuses on operational enhancements rather than public-facing changes. The plans state that the lack of landscaping is due to the functional nature of the space and ongoing maintenance considerations.

The extension forms part of Duckworth Land Rover’s continued investment in its Boston-area facility and, if approved, will further strengthen the dealership’s logistics and servicing capabilities.
