A section of High Street in Boston is currently closed between Nelson Way and John Adams Way due to emergency works by National Grid Electricity Distribution.

The urgent excavation is being carried out to locate and repair a low-voltage cable fault, with a provisional end date of 30 June. However, engineers have confirmed they will backfill and reinstate the road as soon as the issue is resolved.

Access remains available for vehicles exiting John Adams Way, but some motorists have been left confused due to the absence of “Road Ahead Closed” signage at the ATS roundabout. This has led to several drivers making dangerous U-turns after unknowingly approaching the closure point.

A spokesperson for National Grid Electricity Distribution said: “We’d like to thank motorists and residents for their patience as we undertake emergency repairs to the electricity network on High Street in Boston. These works are essential in maintaining the reliability of the local electricity supply for homes and businesses.”

Motorists are advised to allow extra time for journeys and follow any local diversions.
