Cadent Gas have closed Eastwood Road and Toot Lane in Boston for essential maintenance work throughout this week, causing heavy disruption to traffic in peak times.
The closures, which began on Monday, are part of necessary upgrades and safety checks to ensure the continued reliability of the local gas supply. These roads will remain closed to traffic for the duration of the work, expected to last until Sunday.
Motorists are advised to follow the signed diversion routes in place to avoid delays and disruptions, although pedestrian access will be maintained where possible.
A spokesperson for Ted West Fish and Chip Shop, located on Eastwood Road took to social media to inform customers of the expected difficulties, saying: “We are going to endeavour to remain open despite the road being closed but obviously if you do come to us you would have to park just up the road and walk down or access us from the Rochford Tower Lane.
A spokesperson for Cadent confirmed that the works are part of a larger initiative to enhance infrastructure across the region and improve gas safety for residents. “We appreciate the cooperation of local residents and road users during these essential works and apologise for any inconvenience caused,” they said.
Authorities are urging drivers to plan alternative routes in advance to reduce congestion, and any updates will be communicated through local traffic channels.
