Lakeside Fishing Retreats, the newly opened fishing destination set in a stunning 3-acre lake, has enhanced its safety measures with the installation of a life-saving defibrillator. The vital piece of equipment has been generously donated by the Pilgrim Heart & Lung Fund and will be situated at the Pizza Shed and Bar, ensuring easy access in case of emergencies.
Lakeside Fishing Retreats, which opened in 2024, offers a breathtaking fishing experience with a well-stocked lake featuring F1, common and mirror Carp, Roach, Rudd, Tench, Bream, Barbel, and Perch. Designed with both leisure and sport anglers in mind, the lake slopes down to a depth of 7ft and includes a central island, thoughtfully planted with trees to enhance the experience. The retreat also boasts 28 log cabins, including adult-only accommodations with hot tubs, twin-bed cabins, and family-friendly lodges.
Amy Wilkinson, Director of Lakeside Fishing Retreats, said: “The safety of our guests is always our priority, and we are incredibly grateful to the Pilgrim Heart & Lung Fund for their generous donation. Having a defibrillator on-site provides peace of mind, ensuring that in the event of a medical emergency, we have the best possible chance of saving a life.”
The Pilgrim Heart & Lung Fund continues its mission to equip local communities with life-saving defibrillators, helping to improve emergency response times in rural areas.
A spokesperson for the fund said: “With huge thanks to your continued support and generous donations, this afternoon PHLF committee members Perry and Rachel presented a Public Access Defibrillator (AED) to Lakeside Fishing Retreats . This is rural site based in Old Leake near Boston. We have also donated an external cabinet for the AED which will be placed on The Pizza Shed & Bar building which is close to the fishing lake and guest lodges.
The installation of this defibrillator reinforces Lakeside Fishing Retreats’ commitment to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for visitors.
