Boston United recorded a seventh successive home league victory over York City after coming from behind to secure a valuable three-point haul at the Jakemans Community Stadium.

Tyrese Sinclair had handed the Minstermen a stunning seventh minute lead – but the Pilgrims levelled before half-time through Connor Teale’s first goal for the club.

Second half efforts from Jimmy Knowles and substitute Jacob Hazel sealed a memorable and crucial win for Graham Coughlan’s side.

York took a spectacular lead when SINCLAIR cut in from the left flank to arrow an unstoppable drive over the dive of Cameron Gregory, making his first league start since September, from around 30 yards.

Gregory’s opposite number Harrison Male made excellent saves to deny Knowles and Teale, as United built up a head of steam. The Pilgrims were rewarded when Zak Mills nodded down Cameron Green’s raking crossfield pass and TEALE finished with aplomb at Male’s near post.

The York stopper sustained a neck injury in the process, which would ultimately see him replaced at half-time by Rory Watson.

Gregory made a pair of superb saves before the break – denying Ollie Pearce and then Malachi Fagan-Walcott.

Watson was called into action seven minutes after half-time, saving well with his legs to deny Knowles.

The Pilgrims took a 67th minute lead when Green teed up Jai Rowe to cross from the right and KNOWLES slammed the ball home with a rising drive from 12 yards.

Substitute Kieran Coates crashed an effort off target for the hosts but they killed off the contest with four minutes to play when Green clipped a ball down the line for HAZEL to nip in front of Watson to stab home from an angle, despite the best efforts of Callum Howe on the line.
