A section of London Road in Boston remained closed until the early hours of Sunday morning after the body of a man was discovered near a petrol station on Saturday evening.

Lincolnshire Police were called to London Road shortly after 5.30pm on Saturday 1 August, with the road closed between Harvest Energy and The Quayside Hotel while officers carried out their investigations.

In an update issued today, police confirmed that the body of a 60-year-old man was found near the petrol station. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed.

Lincolnshire Police have confirmed the death is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will now be prepared for the coroner.

The road reopened during the early hours of Sunday morning after remaining closed for several hours while inquiries were completed.
