Boston United Jakemans Community Stadium recently transformed into a dazzling Parisian soirée as the Moulin Rouge Charity Ball brought an evening of glamour, music, and generosity to Boston. The event raised an impressive £1,000 donated to Scope for Boston and District and £840 for Boston Endeavour Academy, two organisations dedicated to supporting the local community.

Organised by Alison Ward, the ball welcomed over 120 attendees dressed in their finest Moulin Rouge-inspired attire. Guests enjoyed a night of live entertainment, a luxury raffle, and delicious meal, all set against a backdrop of vibrant red and gold décor, thanks to Ali’s Balloon Creations.

Alison Ward, the event organiser, said: “I wanted to create a spectacular event that not only celebrated the vibrancy of the Moulin Rouge but also made a real difference to two causes close to our hearts. It’s wonderful to see the community come together to support these causes. I’m overwhelmed by the generosity of everyone who attended.”

“My thanks goes to all the local restaurants and small businesses who donate year in, year out, and also the community for donations of raffle prizes. Special thanks must go to Gemma, who supports me every year in the organisation of this fantastic event.”

The annual ball, organised with different themes by Alison and her daughter Gemma, was started 15 years ago when Gemma’s brother was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Asperger’s and severe Epilepsy.

The funds raised will provide vital support to both causes. Scope for Boston and District works tirelessly to promote equality and opportunities for people with cerebral palsy and associated physical disabilities in the region.

Sarah Fairfield , Treasurer and Publicity Officer from Scope for Boston and District, expressed her gratitude: “We’re so grateful to Alison and everyone who supported the Moulin Rouge Charity Ball. The £1,000 raised will make a meaningful impact on our mission to create a fairer society for people with cerebral palsy and associated physical disabilities in Boston. Events like this not only raise funds but also awareness of the challenges our community faces.”

Boston Endeavour Academy, a special educational needs school, will use the funds to enhance opportunities for its students.

Both causes join Alison and extend their heartfelt thanks to the attendees, local businesses who donated prizes, and the team at Jakemans Community Stadium for hosting the event.

The Moulin Rouge Charity Ball is a testament to the power of community spirit, bringing people together to make a lasting difference.
