A burst water main on a busy town through road is causing disruption to the local area.
The burst, located on West Street, in the middle of the junction with Rosegarth Street, opposite Boston Borough Council’s Municipal Buildings is seeping through the road surface in two seperate locations, one of which is currently approx. 30 cm in the air.
An increase in traffic to view the burst is causing more pressure on the weakened road surface. Motorists are advised to stay away from the road and use alternative routes until works can be carried out to repair the burst and road surface.
It is unclear how much work is required, nor how long the works will take, however significant disruption is expected on the through route, along with public transport with Brylaine Travel, Black Cat Travel and Stagecoach, all of which use the road as the exit to the towns bus station.
At time of publication, the burst hadn’t been isolated and Anglian Water hadn’t responded to our enquiry.
