Delays are to be expected on a major road following damage sustained to a level crossing barrier this morning.
The A17 at the junction of A1121 Boardsides is currently showing significant delays following a collision with the Swineshead Bridge level crossing.
A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: Swineshead Bridge is closed following damage to a level crossing. We are at the scene and will be for the foreseeable future until repairs can be made. Please avoid the area if you can and take an alternative route. Thank you.
A Network Rail spokesperson said: “On Saturday morning around 9:40am, we assisted emergency services as they worked to re-open a road over Swinehead level crossing following reports of a track defect.
“Our teams responded to site shortly after and have now repaired the defect, clearing trains to run as normal.”
