Based at The Warehouse Theatre on Eden Business Park in Kirton, ARTheatre Arts is proving that you don’t need to be a seasoned performer to enjoy the magic of theatre.
With its own dedicated theatre and rehearsal space, the organisation offers a welcoming environment where people of all ages and abilities can develop new skills, build confidence, make friends and become part of a growing creative community.
And with classes taking place throughout the week, there’s something for almost everyone.
Something Different Every Day
Mondays at ARTheatre are all about movement, with Dance Hub offering classes for children from Key Stage 1 right through to adults.
Unlike some traditional dance schools, the emphasis is on enjoying dance, developing technique and growing in confidence without the pressure of having to be perfect.
On Tuesdays, the spotlight turns to Musical Theatre Skills, bringing together singing, acting and movement for young people who love performing.
Whether they’re dreaming of appearing on a West End stage or simply want to try something new, the sessions provide an opportunity to develop their abilities in a supportive setting.
Take to the Air with Aerial Silks and Hoop
One of the more unusual activities on offer takes place every Wednesday, when The Warehouse Theatre hosts its popular aerial silks and hoop classes.
Combining elements of acrobatics, strength and flexibility, aerial training gives participants the chance to learn exciting new skills suspended above the ground.
Classes are available for children at beginner and advanced levels, alongside adult beginner and intermediate sessions.
And while aerial performance might look intimidating at first glance, ARTheatre is particularly keen to encourage complete beginners to give it a go.
The adult beginners’ sessions offer something a little different for those looking to become more active, meet new people or take up a hobby they may never previously have considered.
No previous aerial experience is necessary to get started.
Acting, Music and Advanced Performance Training
Thursdays bring another busy programme, with Acting Studio providing practical training for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students.
Rather than simply rehearsing lines for a production, participants explore improvisation, character development, script work and physical theatre, helping them become more confident and creative performers.
For those interested in developing their musical knowledge, Theory & Exam classes provide accessible training in music theory, musicianship and examination preparation.
Meanwhile, more experienced performers aged 16 and over can take advantage of MT Pro 16+, an advanced musical theatre programme focusing on performance technique, repertoire, characterisation and acting through song.
More Than Just a Stage School
While developing performance skills is an important part of ARTheatre Arts, the organisation believes its biggest strength lies in the community it has created.
Its approach is built around encouraging individuals to challenge themselves, make mistakes, learn new skills and celebrate their achievements without fear of judgement.
For younger students, that can mean developing confidence, making new friendships and learning the importance of teamwork.
For adults, it offers an opportunity to escape the everyday routine, enjoy a creative hobby and become part of something different.
And the opportunities don’t stop when weekly classes finish.
Thanks to its dedicated venue, ARTheatre Arts can also provide students with opportunities to participate in full-scale theatre productions, showcases, workshops and special events, giving them the chance to put their newly developed skills into practice.
The organisation’s philosophy is summed up in one simple message:
“Theatre isn’t a place, it’s a community.”
It’s an approach that aims to make performing arts accessible to everyone, regardless of experience, background or ability.
Discover Your Place at The Warehouse Theatre
With its varied weekday programme, ARTheatre Arts is hoping to welcome even more families, young performers and adults from Kirton, Boston and the surrounding villages.
Whether it’s a child discovering a love for acting, a teenager developing their musical theatre skills or an adult trying aerial hoop for the very first time, the message is clear: you don’t have to be an expert to get involved.
Sometimes, all it takes is the confidence to walk through the door.
ARTheatre Arts is based at The Warehouse Theatre, Unit 7, Eden Business Park, Kirton, Boston.
