Boston Borough Council and the Wyberton Wombles of Boston Common are joining forces once again for a big community clean – and you can get involved!
The Big Borough Autumn Clean is taking place on Sunday 25 October from 9am to 12noon.
Anyone can take part and volunteer some time to help litter pick in the following locations:
- Boston College Mayflower Campus (Rowley Road, Boston, PE21 6JE)
- Peter Paine Performance Centre (Rosebery Avenue, Boston PE21 7QR)
- Tunnard Street car park (Boston, PE21 6PL)
- The Sidings Medical Practice (14 Sleaford Road, Boston, PE21 8EG)
The Council is pleased to once again be working alongside the volunteer Wombles group to help keep the borough looking its best.
Cllr Callum Butler, Portfolio Holder for Environmental Services at Boston Borough Council, said: “Our Community Clean events with the Wyberton Wombles are always a great example of what can be achieved when people work together and take pride in where they live.
“Anyone can get involved and do their bit in helping to keep the borough clean, tidy and welcoming for everyone. We’re proud to be working alongside the Wyberton Wombles once again. I also thank all community groups that have previously joined in with the Big Clean and hope to see them and lots of volunteers joining us on the day.”
Steve Slater of the Wyberton Wombles said: “Our volunteers care deeply about our local community, and it’s always encouraging to see people of all ages getting involved and helping to keep the borough looking its best.
“Every bag of litter collected makes a difference. We’d love to see you at the Big Borough Autumn Clean. Whether you can spare 30 minutes or the full morning, your support will make a valuable contribution.”
Anyone who wants to help will receive personal protective equipment (PPE) and leaning equipment provided by Boston Borough Council.
