Representatives from Boston Borough Council recently joined partners from Langcroft, Seagate Homes, Legal & General Affordable Homes, Housing 21, Neo Projects Ltd and Gateley to mark the ground-breaking of a major new housing development off Wainfleet Road.

This significant project will deliver a transformative new 200 home neighbourhood and mark a £40million investment in the Borough.

The scheme, which Boston Borough Council backed with over £1million of funding to support affordable housing availability in the local area, will be made up of a range of 1, 2, 3 and 4-bedroom homes, including shared ownership, affordable rent and specialist retirement housing.

Welcoming the news, Councillor John Baxter, portfolio holder for housing, said: “I’m delighted we are able to make this substantial investment into such an important project for Boston. It demonstrates our continued commitment to meeting the differing housing needs of our residents.

“By supporting this development we are helping to deliver a range of high-quality affordable homes that will make a real difference to families, couples and individuals across the borough. This project gives people the opportunity to stay and put down roots in Boston with a safe, attractive place they can call home.

“It’s fantastic that we can continue building strong relationships with developers like Langcroft, bringing long-term economic and community benefits to our area.”

Wainfleet Road will pave the way for a vibrant, well-designed community offering homes for first-time buyers, local families, renters and older residents to meet the local housing need. Bringing strong social and economic benefits, whilst supporting Boston Borough Council’s long-term housing strategy.

The development will deliver a diverse range of 1, 2, 3 and 4-bedroom homes, including shared ownership, affordable rent and 36 specialist retirement housing. Guided by Langcroft’s approach to deliver more than just houses, but to create a place where people can live well, feel part of a community and enjoy greener surroundings.

Will Ryley, Development Manager at Langcroft said: This development reflects our commitment to unlocking complex sites and delivering meaningful housing outcomes. In partnership with Homes England and Boston Borough Council, we are proud to be bringing forwards this much needed 200 affordable homes that will contribute to a strong, sustainable community for years to come.

The site was selected due to its potential to provide high-quality homes, stimulate wider investment and strengthen local housing choice. The development focuses on creating a strong, sustainable community.
