A new chapter is unfolding for one of Lincolnshire’s most iconic entertainment venues, as Poyntons Consultancy brings part of the historic Gliderdrome in Boston to market.

Following the recent successful sale of the adjoining former Boston United football ground to the NHS for redevelopment, Poyntons is now overseeing the release of the Gliderdrome, offering a rare chance to acquire a piece of the town’s cultural heritage.

At the heart of this launch are the Starlight Rooms, the undisputed jewel in the crow – a remarkable Grade II listed dance hall with an asking price of £475,000. Rich in character, the venue has welcomed some of the biggest names in music during their formative years, including Stevie Wonder, Elton John, The Who, Otis Reading and Tom Jones.

The Starlight Rooms are more than just a venue, they are a defining part of Boston’s cultural identity, with countless now-household names having passed through these doors as they began their rise to stardom. The stage has long been a proving ground for emerging talent, drawing audiences from far and wide.

For many, the Gliderdrome isn’t just a venue – it’s a time capsule of unforgettable nights and music history in the making. Generations of fans packed through its doors to see future superstars before they hit the big time, with artists later reflecting on their performances here as standout moments in their careers. That sense of nostalgia continues to resonate today, cementing its place as one of the region’s most treasured cultural landmarks.

For the first time, the wider complex is being presented as a collection of individual opportunities, including the bingo hall and warehouses, Stanley’s Bar, and The Richmond Rooms. This approach allows prospective purchasers to engage with the site in a way that aligns with their own vision, whether continuing its entertainment legacy, introducing new leisure concepts, or exploring alternative uses (subject to the necessary consents).

Commenting on the launch, Jack Fairman of Poyntons Consultancy said: “The Gliderdrome is a truly special building with a rich past that resonates far beyond Boston. Having recently completed the sale of the adjoining site to the NHS, we are delighted to now bring the Starlight Rooms and wider complex to the market in a way that opens up new possibilities. This is a rare chance to acquire a venue of genuine cultural significance, and we are excited to see how its next chapter unfolds.”

With its prominent location, enduring popularity and deep-rooted connection to the community, the Gliderdrome represents far more than a property investment. It offers the chance to take custodianship of a much-loved local landmark while shaping its future.
