Passengers travelling between Boston, Nottingham and Skegness are being warned of significant disruption this afternoon and evening, with multiple services cancelled, delayed or amended.
Rail operator East Midlands Railway has confirmed a number of issues affecting the line, including a member of train crew being taken ill and a tree blocking the railway.
The 12:16 Skegness to Nottingham service (due 14:26) has been terminated at Boston. It will no longer call at Heckington, Sleaford, Grantham, Bottesford, Bingham, Radcliffe-on-Trent or Nottingham. The disruption is due to the train conductor being taken ill.
Meanwhile, the 13:45 Nottingham to Skegness service (due 15:54) is currently delayed at Boston due to a tree obstructing the railway line.
Further disruption is expected later today, with the 18:45 Nottingham to Skegness service (due 20:54) now set to start from Boston only. It will no longer call at Nottingham, Radcliffe-on-Trent, Bingham, Aslockton, Bottesford, Grantham, Sleaford or Heckington, again due to a tree blocking the railway.
Passengers are advised to check before they travel and allow extra time for their journeys, with further delays and alterations possible while the line is cleared and services return to normal.
More updates will be provided as information becomes available.
