Stagecoach East Midlands has confirmed that residents will again be able to enjoy one of the highlights of the region’s coastline for the Summer, as the much-loved Skegness Seasiders will be back on the road for the 2026 season.
All 12 characters – Rocky, Sandy, Shelly, Candy, Pierre, Salty, Sunny, Teddy, Milly, Rolly, Sweetie and Scoop – have spent the winter months undergoing maintenance and getting ready to welcome residents and visitors back for another summer of seaside adventures. The vibrant fleet, made up of 10 hybrid open-top buses and two hybrid closed-top vehicles, will run daily from 28 March through to 1 November, covering the holiday seasons from Easter until October Half Term.
Running at frequent intervals, the Skegness Seasiders Service 1, will depart every 10 minutes between Skegness, Butlin’s, Fantasy Island and Ingoldmells. Evening services will continue every 20 minutes until late. Services extending to Chapel St Leonards will run up to every 20 minutes too.
The popular Group DayRider ticket remains exceptional value at £14, offering unlimited hop-on, hop-off travel for up to five people throughout the day. Younger passengers can continue collecting their favourite character badges each time they travel. Once six or more have been collected, a prize can be claimed at Skegness Bus Station — adding even more excitement to every journey.
The much-loved Seasider Radio will once again provide the soundtrack to the summer, playing classic holiday hits to create the perfect atmosphere along the Lincolnshire coast. Following last year’s exceptional weather, the team is hopeful for plenty of sunshine again in 2026.
Matt Cranwell, Managing Director at Stagecoach East Midlands, said: “The Seasiders are a huge part of summer in Skegness, and the team has been counting down the days until they can head back out. We know just how busy the town becomes during the holiday season, so as usual, we’ve increased the frequency of services to make sure there’s room for everyone to enjoy the experience. There’s nothing quite like travelling along the seafront on an open-top bus in the sunshine, and we’re looking forward to welcoming residents and visitors on board for another fantastic season.”
To mark the start of the season, Skegness Bus Station will also receive a fresh new lick of paint, and from Easter onwards, visitors are encouraged to stop by to pick up a summer guide, including a couple of exclusive offers created in partnership with local attractions.
Fans should also watch out for the new Seasider storybook launching later in the summer, raising funds in support of Roald Dahl Marvellous Children’s Charity.
Seasider storybooks are available to purchase at Skegness Bus Station, with proceeds supporting local and children’s charities.
