Motorists are still experiencing delays on the A52 Main Road at Leverton following a road traffic collision earlier today (10 March) involving a tractor and trailer.

Emergency services were called to the incident, logged as Incident 160 of 10 March, after the trailer overturned and spilled a large quantity of cabbages across the carriageway, forcing the road to be temporarily closed while the debris was cleared and the vehicles recovered.

The road has now reopened, however police remain at the scene managing traffic, and delays are expected in the area while the situation continues to be brought back to normal.

Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported in the collision.

Drivers travelling through Leverton are advised to allow extra time for their journeys or consider alternative routes where possible.
