Richard Tice MP, the Member of Parliament for Boston and Skegness and Deputy Leader of Reform UK, has been appointed to the party’s Shadow Cabinet following an announcement by Nigel Farage at a press conference in Central London yesterday morning.
Under the new structure, Mr Tice will lead Reform UK’s policy development and parliamentary scrutiny across several key areas, including business growth, trade, industrial strategy and energy security. The appointment places him at the centre of the party’s economic agenda as it looks ahead to the next General Election.
It has also been confirmed that Richard Tice will serve as Reform UK’s Deputy Prime Minister if the party is successful at the next General Election.
The move reflects Mr Tice’s longstanding focus on economic competitiveness and his background in business and enterprise, as well as his senior role within the party’s leadership team.
Speaking following the announcement, Richard Tice said: “I’m honoured to be given this responsibility at such an important time for our country. Britain needs a serious, credible plan for growth, for stronger trade, for a competitive industrial strategy and for secure, affordable energy. Reform UK is determined to put forward bold, practical policies that back British businesses, cut unnecessary red tape and get our economy moving again.
“If the British people put their trust in us at the next General Election, I would be proud to serve as Deputy Prime Minister and help deliver the change our country needs.”
Nigel Farage said the new Shadow Cabinet would strengthen Reform UK’s policy offer and demonstrate the party’s readiness to challenge the government across key areas of national importance.
For Boston and Skegness, the appointment marks a significant moment, placing the area’s MP in a prominent national role with direct influence over Reform UK’s economic and industrial priorities.
