A Boston supermarket has launched a heartfelt Easter egg appeal to support a local charity that helps victims of domestic abuse and their children, aiming to bring comfort, kindness and a sense of community to families during the Easter period.
Running until Wednesday 1 April 2026, Asda Boston’s Easter egg appeal is being held in partnership with Haven Domestic Abuse Service. Shoppers visiting the Lister Way store are invited to purchase an extra Easter egg during their shop and place it into the collection trolley located behind the checkouts. All donated eggs will be given directly to families supported by Haven, helping to ensure children can still enjoy a small Easter treat despite the difficult circumstances they may be facing.
Haven Domestic Abuse Service has been supporting individuals and families across Lincolnshire since it was established in 1987. Originally set up to provide a telephone helpline and emergency refuge accommodation, the charity has grown over the years to meet increasing need within the community. It is a member of the Women’s Aid Federation of England and plays a key role within the Lincolnshire Domestic Abuse Partnership.
In May 2022, Haven opened a purpose-built refuge, Haven House, offering a safe and secure place for up to twelve families fleeing domestic abuse. In addition, the charity manages five other dispersed properties across South Lincolnshire and delivers a range of preventative projects and community-based support services, helping both families and individuals rebuild their lives and look towards a safer future.
Stephen Bromby, community champion at Boston’s Asda store, said the appeal is about more than chocolate – it’s about showing local families they are not alone.
“At times like Easter, community really matters, and we’re incredibly proud to be supporting this Easter egg appeal for Haven Domestic Abuse Service,” he said. “For children going through very difficult circumstances, receiving an Easter egg can be a small but powerful reminder that they are safe, loved and that their community cares about them.”
He added: “We’d really encourage our customers to get involved and donate an Easter egg if they can. I want to say a sincere thank you to everyone who has already donated. Your kindness and generosity will help bring comfort, hope and a little happiness to local families this Easter.”
Asda Boston hopes the appeal will continue to bring the community together and make a meaningful difference to families supported by Haven during the Easter period.
Chloe Waters, funding and communications for Haven Domestic Abuse Service added: “We’re incredibly grateful to Asda Boston for choosing to support Haven through this Easter egg appeal. Partnerships like this make a real difference to the families and children we work with, many of whom are rebuilding their lives after experiencing domestic abuse. Something as simple as an Easter egg can mean so much to a child and this appeal helps ensure they feel remembered, cared for and supported by their local community. Thank you”
