A major Boston bus operator is celebrating the career of one of the longest-serving members of its team, who is retiring after an incredible 46 years of helping local people, throughout the region, to get where they need to go.
Popular and respected bus Driver, David Kerrigan, is retiring after close to five decades, throughout which he has brought his friendly nature, high quality driving skills, and important experience and knowledge to the region’s roads.
46 years ago, the year 1980 was a notable time, witnessing the assassination of John Lennon, the release of landmark computer game Pac-Man, as well as the Audo Quatro and the Rubik’s cube, the sinking of MV Mi Amigo, the ship that housed pirate radio station Radio Caroline, and Frank Sinatra performing to over 175,000 people in Rio de Janeiro.
The top songs of the year were ‘Call Me’ by Blondie, ‘Another Brick In The Wall, Part II’ by Pink Floyd, ‘Magic’ by Olivia Newton-John, ‘Rock With You’ by Michael Jackson, and ‘Do That To Me One More Time’ by Captain & Tennille. Meanwhile, the most popular films in 1980 were The Empire Strikes Back, 9 to 5, Airplane! and Stir Crazy.
