A large fire in Hobhole Bank, Old Leake, has seen the cancellation of rail services between Boston and Skegness and the closure of the road.
Multiple fire crews and police officers are in attendance at an address beside the railway line.
A statement issued by East Midlands Railway said: “There is a fire on property near the railway. This is between Skegness and Boston and is disrupting our trains on the Skegness/Boston/Nottingham route
Network Rail will be sending a team to site, to see if it is safe for trains to run. The fire brigade are on site at the property that is affected.
“Trains are unable to run in both directions between Skegness and Boston,
We have 2 trains affected by this disruption
20:21 Skegness to Nottingham
21:20 Skegness to Nottingham
At present we are expecting this disruption to disrupt these two services for the rest of the evening.”
The cause of the fire remains unclear, however Hobhole Bank is closed between Forty Foot Lane and Station Road, and Station Road is closed up to the junction of Midgate Lane.
